The Reis Group

The Reis Group, founded in June 2016 in Washington, D.C., has quickly grown into one of the country’s leading healthcare public relations agencies. Created by Sharon Reis and her veteran communications team, the award-winning firm represents the nation’s leading foundations, non-profits, associations, medical societies, health systems, and universities. Its expertise spans all aspects of strategic communications for clients representing the nation’s leading foundations, medical societies, nonprofits, associations, health systems, corporations, and universities. We are passionate about teaming with clients who are trying to make the world a better place, focusing on ambitious projects that they strongly believe benefit society.

Beth Casteel, Senior Counselor at The Reis Group, is a former reporter for The Associated Press and a veteran media relations strategist for leading medical societies, including the American College of Cardiology and the American Psychiatric Association. These experiences have made her a versatile and invaluable media relations professional. She developed strong writing skills during her journalism career and then internalized the specialized needs of medical associations, giving her a keen sense of how to pitch stories and ideas that pique the interest of busy reporters while meeting the clients’ needs. She spent a decade reviewing and promoting medical research, led a major multi-year strategic campaign to reduce the stigma of mental illness, and placed dozens of opinion pieces in major trade and mainstream publications. Casteel holds a B.A. in journalism from the University of Oklahoma and a strategic public relations certificate from the University of Virginia.
